- ac_bill1ExplorerNeed to ask yourself first, how much power will I need?
Wanting something portable or a built in unit? One of the smaller Honda portables may be all you really need..
Why limit it to diesel or propane? - Artum_SnowbirdExplorerA Honda 2K from www.Alamia.us. Delivered to your door in a few days.
- DevocamperExplorerjust charging batteries and a little TV now and then one Honda 2000i will do but if you think you will need more power then get two with a kit and that gives you a lot of different set ups to use and about 4K of power maybe a little less.. We have two Honda 2000I's and that’s all we have really ever needed for AC or Microwave, but most of the time run one to charge the batteries when dry camping at the beach. Any of the 2000's are easy to move and store when not in use, our setup is two Honda’s and an extended run fuel tank which turned out to be a great combo for us and runs for a very long time without needing to refuel. If you’re looking for something onboard be prepared to be buying a lot of propane. Have not heard of to many people that use a diesel generator unless in a diesel motorhome, the smaller lighter generators can be used for other things like when the power is out at the house or family outings. Keep your fellow campers in mind when you do buy one since the less you pay the louder it normally will be.
Good luck and safe travels
Mike - pianotunaNomad IIIHi,
If you wish the generator to have a choice between propane and diesel it is not easy.
A diesel portable will be heavy and expensive.
I would go for a dual fuel propane/gas unit. - marglowe3ExplorerThanks for the feedback. My husband has decided to purchase a propane generator.
- dave17352ExplorerThat was quick. I would go with gas. But that's me. Propane is fine and some advantages but is harder to find.
- LarryectExplorerYou can get Tri-Fuel Yamahas here if you want portables
