Insurance premiums depend upon what is insured and the amount insured. Full replacement cost for motorhome, full coverage for broken glass, full replacement for awnings, 1/2 million dollar liability, 1,000 dollar deductible, estimated value of personal contents, uninsured and underinsured coverage, etc.
Compare apples with apples and not apples to oranges to get an accurate comparison of cost. I find that different insurance plans do not cover the exact same as another insurance company.
Premiums also are based on such things as the neighborhood you live in, where the RV is stored, your credit rating and history, and other factors. That's why whenever someone asks "How much do you pay for insurance from XXX company?" you'll get 100 different answers from 100 different people. - PastorCharlieExplorerInsurance premiums depend upon what is insured and the amount insured. Others have Nat Gen and say it is expensive so who knows...but give them a try. They were really good on a claim too.

- badbob1ExplorerI had Progressive for years on my 5th wheel and was very pleased with the rate. Have never had a claim and when we got the renewal this year premium had increased and started shopping around. At the same time we sold our fiver and purchased a new 2014 Solera class C motorhome. Called Good Sam and got a policy for less then what Progressive wanted for my fiver. Give them a call you may be surprised. Good Sam was less then 5 other quotes I got.
Good Luck
BadBob - Mandalay_ParrExplorerTry National Interstate Ins. I've been happy with them for 10 years now.
- TrackrigExplorer IIIf you're not full timing it, the first people I'd check is who you have the house, cars, and other things insured through. "Usually" including it in with everything else is cheapest.
Bill - darsbenExplorer IIIT also matters if you are full timing or still have a S&B.
I have moved my insurance around a lot and am happy with State Farm Insurance here in New York State at the moment. What I have found is that the companies tend to give lower rates to new customers and bum them up over time. I guess they are hoping for inertia to set in.
The absolute worst was Good Sam and their fees for anything you want to do. - ApprovedAnonymous

That is the best thing to do as rates are very different from state to state. Also, find an independent agent who can shop numerous companies. - rtateExplorerThanks for the replies. Please keep them coming. I will start calling some of these companies in the morning.
