Help me understand the flaws with these "features"

I suppose it also depends upon how you feel about having a TV as part of the decor. Unless it's turned on all the time I don't find a big black rectangle to be all that attractive, it would be nice to put it away when not being used. Our current 32" Tv in our fiver is only about 3" deep and would only take up the very back of a cabinet if we had a televator.
