One possibility might possibly be switching places with her: have her back up and you act as a spotter. Maybe getting a feel for what the view is like from the driver's seat would help her better understand where to position herself and when and what to give directions about. Maybe some sort of a school or seminar on driving trailers would be even better, as it's a neutral party giving direction and instruction.
On a more general level, and I have no idea whether or not it's at all applicable to your specific situation, I really don't think it's worth introducing ill feelings into a marriage simply over backing up a trailer...so if there's starting to be resentment or hard feelings, I would think it's time to lovingly say, with a smile, that you'll take care of things and she doesn't need to concern herself in the least with directing (beyond perhaps being alert to yell stop before you ram into something). Then again, maybe that would cause more ruffled feathers. Relationships are tricky at times.
