Another update on my leak. I think I know where it is coming from but I can't see from the outside where to fix. We were in the RV this past weekend and had two nights of rain. My wife put these thin cardboard pieces between the slide ceiling and the valance cover that goes over the blinds. There is a screw in the corner of the valance that goes into the ceiling. As you can see from the picture, the right side of the valance has water stains.
Here is what it looked like a few hours after it rained.
Eventually, the water gets into the top of the window frame and then starts dripping on the inside of the window. Here is a picture of the window. We put a piece of blue tape on the window just below where it is leaking and also tapped a paper towel to the window to catch the water.
I have had the motor home to the dealer 3 times for the leak. The first time they said they took the bolts out that hold in the awning topper and calked each bolt. They also calked around the window frame. I do not think the leak is coming around the window frame as it doesn't seem to leak when the slide is retracted. The 2nd time I took it to the dealer, they put a piece of tape along the inside length on the top of the slide. This didn't make any sense to me since the leak is coming from the outside top of the slide, not the inside. The 3rd time I took it in they didn't do anything as they said they couldn't make it leak. I have calked everywhere I can see and I can't find where the water is coming in on the outside. Anyone have any ideas?
