Your in Texas why not consign it to PPL, might find your next RV there.
I did go sit down with PPL several months ago. As I recall the price they wanted me to agree to was quite low, lower than a typical trade-in price. I have also talked to Camping Worls about their consignments, better than PPL I think but with a little luck one might be ahead finding a private buyer.
Dealers ARE going to give you a bit lower offer but the advantage is you can get rid of it faster.
Private sale, well, you might squeak a couple dollars more out of it but you WILL be working the buyers pretty hard and it will take lots of time. You are going to have to deal with deadbeats, tire kickers and lots of no shows.
RVs are a depreciating asset, it loses "value" (money) every minute you own it, it never increases in value.
The thing you must realize is that it is used, it is not new and the value is often not as much as you may think.
It is only worth what a buyer is willing to give for it, price it accordingly..I would not make a trip anywhere to try to scratch out a couple of dollars more out of it let alone as far as you are going.
Put it on Craigslist for a very small amount more than what PPL offered and I would bet the buyers will be offering the same price to buy as PPL..
