Hershey Show

Well, I went to the Hershey RV Show today, wonderful weather, great time getting my steps in (12,000+). It is really huge! I saw a lot of nice Class A's, 5th Wheel and Travel Trailers. It was nice to see Lance there and Airstream, along with lots of others. I was slightly reluctant to go because I didn't want to become envious, and start wanting to trade up. But I did enjoy myself, and saw some things I do want in the future. But fortunately I've also realized I really like my trailer, and I don't need a new one, uhhh...yet.

I liked a 5th wheel that had three sections. A living room in the overhang. The kitchen, and the bedroom. One 5th wheel had a separate bedroom that had a neat configuration for 3 grandkiddies (future) one low, one high, and one a fold out couch.

The fancy Class A's are always a treat to look at. The one thing I liked about the Class A's and the 5th Wheels was the storage areas!! Lots, and lots!! Only thought so far was that I'm not willing to pay $50,000+ for storage space. Now if I was full-timing, that might be different!! That's my dream right now, but hard to imagine not having a place to come back to.
  • Been at the show since Thursday, staying until tomorrow. Lots of nice rigs, especially the "super C" from Nexus, and their new class a. Lot of bang for the buck.
Lot of the lower entry level class a, all built like cracker boxes. Foumd loose/missing trim screws, trim falling off, ect ect ect...the usual problems owners rant about here.
A lot of vendors, some with some nice products, Dometic has a nice power strip that mounts fans, lights, blue tooth speakers. Simple 12 volt install. Bought one.
And the usual dealers/salespeople who will tell a prospective buyer anything to sell a rig. Over heard a salesman telling a looker couple about a rig and wanted to step in and shut him up...giving out bad info. But bit my tounge and left. Usual shark/salesman feeding frenzy.
    Grumpy
  • We are up here at Hershey now. Went yesterday and going back today. We like going because my daughter LOVES climbing around in them. We also like it because it verifies that we like what we have, and its fun to look at new products.

This year they had new Jayco motorcoaches right at the front. They looked cool from the outside, but I couldn't really tell the difference between the $450K one and the $250K one. They were both super gaudy and impractical in my opinion. It really confirms or us that we have made the right decision in our trailer for our point in life.

In 10 or 15 years we would love to get a 5er... but our Jayco trailer is great for us now. The bride was commenting about how she wishes our bathroom was a little bigger and the bunkhouse had a slide... but we haven't found the PERFECT camper yet. Until then, we love our 29QBS (which, by the way, they redesigned and took away the outdoor kitchen!!!).
  • I love going to the shows. Even if I'm not shopping for real. Last year's Sacramento one underwhelmed though.
