We always see the number of rigs going in the opposite direction.
We seldom see the number of rigs going in the same direction as we are going.
I've had the impression that I'm pulling in the wrong direction many times. But when I stop for a break - if I can see the freeway - there might be as many or more rigs heading the direction I'm going.
Glad to know that I'm not the only one thinking the same thing:@ - PawPaw_n_GramExplorerOne thought.

You didn't hear... because of global warming snow birding is no longer needed! :B
hmmm it's 15 degrees at my house... maybe the global warming is for next year. ;)
Happy New Year Everyone!! Drive safe too!
Mike
Yeah, cold here, too. Getting FRIGID these next few days...
Know why? The Earth was knocked off its axis by 10 inches in the quake that hit Japan (Of Fukushima fame). At least that's what the documentary claimed.
Global warming? Well, I'm firing up the coal furnace to do my part, warming up my small part of the globe :P
Did I mention...BRRR! - D___MExplorer

We are snow birds heading down 95 South. I can't believe how many RVs are heading NORTH! Class As, Class Cs, TTs, vans, you name it. Where are they going??
Oh and Happy New Year!
I think they are going...well...NORTH. If you were driving the other way they would be going...South.
Happy New Year back at ya. - MerryExplorer

are you sure you are heading south?
I actually had to check a few times to make sure we were :)
Are more families traveling in Class As now? Because that's mostly what I saw and that's why I was wondering. Thanks for all your replies! - StephJohn2010ExplorerThey are making room for us :)

It's not just the RV's. Those scientists that went to the Antarctic to study the effect of global warming on sea ice are still stuck in the ice, and may be there until spring..
Scientists went down to study climate change, my foot- that's an "ECOTOURISM" ship, mostly. That whole "scientific expedition" thing became the story only after the ship got stuck in the ice.
Here quoting from one of the first stories of This Terrible Disaster (link):Antarctic Tourist Ship Trapped in the Ice wrote:
On board the Akademic Shokalskiy are scientists from the University of NSW, a journalist from the Guardian and dozens of tourists who have paid to be part of the recreation of Mawson’s expedition.
They all signed up based on this come-on: Recreate the Mawson Expedition, whatever that was.
Folks with more money than brains, paying to go along while somebody takes temperature readings down in the Arctic, or does any scientific thing at all while they're aboard- it's the latest thing!
My fondest hope is that they'll stay out there until breakup along about May or so, or better yet: walk out just like that REAL Arctic explorer Shackleton did.
I s'pose that won't happen, since the supply of white wine couldn't possibly hold out that long...:B - stickdogExplorer

Funny.
There was just a thread a couple days ago by some folks heading back to work up north wondering why all the folks were heading south now.
Why they waited until after Christmas.
I get the impression there is one group still working or with kids which goes south for a week or 10 days for the holidays.
And another group which no longer works that heads south after the holidays with the kids/ grandkids.
That was me... Yea, I'm one of those that headed back North (from Florida) after a week vacation.
That was me too.
