Nothing wrong at all with the extra room as long as the truck handles well. Many people would give their left arm to have that much extra room! :W
This extra distance will allow you to turn sharper without worrying about hitting the trailer with the truck, and allow you to lower the tailgate and work back there without unhooking the trailer. I would not complain as long as the truck can handle it ok. Consider yourself lucky! :)
