If GVWR of TT is 10,000 lbs (assuming we fill the thing up to that weight) then that translates to tongue weight of about 1200-1500 lbs.

Weight of five passengers (crew cab) is about 600 lbs (2 adults and 3 kids).

We are up to 1800-2100 lbs toward our max 2900 payload which leaves about 1000 lbs of gear to throw in the bed of the truck (luggage, etc.). That's using the most conservative weight estimates, so I feel pretty good about that.

NOTE: Dry weights of the TT models we are looking at are 7300 and 7700 lbs so the above estimates assume we load the trailers with over 2000 lbs of gear, water, etc.

The "6830 Rear Axle Rating" was pulled from a website that had the towing chart for my truck. I honestly didn't know what this figure was supposed to represent but included it in case it was informative (e.g., to someone just like you!). I went out this evening and looked at my door sticker and here are the GAWR limits:

~ Rear GAWR 4410 lbs (at 50 PSI)
~ Front GAWR 4970 lbs (at 55 PSI)

Well neither of your rear axle ratings make sense to me the first is too high and the second is too low!!

I would think a 99 F250 with the 7.3 diesel would have a 6,000#+ rear axle.
Tire size should be a 16" 245/75-16 E or so with a 3,42# rating.

I find it interesting the 6,830# rear axle rating in the first post, as that in theory what the axle rating if you were running 265/75-16 E tires 3,415# each.

That 99 should just have just the VIN sticker that list the GVWR, and front and Rear axle ratings both in Lbs. and Kg.

Notice the axle ratings down the lest side and the GVWR in the upper right.
