Hitch pin

I have a question about where the hitch pin goes into the receiver on my three-quarter ton 2009 Chevy pick up
I've noticed it's starting to wear out .. maybe another way to put it where the hitch pin goes the whole getting larger? On the bottom hitch pin hole

I use an equalizer hitch trailer is only 5000 pounds... I checked all the measurements and they seem to be spot on ...We do a lot of towing but I've never seen this happen before.

Any input would be appreciated or anybody seen this happen their truck let me know.

Thanks

  • Using a WD hitch you'll need a 5/8" pin. How is the hole on the stinger for the ball? If it gets to bad You'll either have to replace the receiver or weld up the holes and redrill them.

To reweld & drill them I'd pull the receiver off the truck to do the work. It will be easier to clamp it to a drill press than to try drilling them with a hand drill.
  • Measure the pin. The hole should be slightly larger.

There are two sizes, 1/2" and 5/8". If you have the wrong one it will be somewhat obvious now that you know what to look for.
  • Thought they were all the size? Do you know the size I need to buy and were I could find it ?

    Thanks
