Hitch Setup/Adjustment Opinions
TV: '00 GMC Yukon XL 2500
TT: '09 Sunset Creek 298BH
Hitch: 10k round bar WD hitch without swaybar
When I bought this TT, I already had the hitch from our previous trailer. I eyeballed the height, it leveled out ok, so I have been running it all season. Today I decided to actually adjust the hitch for this TV/TT combo. Here's what I ended up with, looking for opinions. Note: I do not have any pictures, my phone was in the house.
Unloaded: 36" F/38" R (all measurements from the ground to the fender well)
WD bars snapped up with 2 links hanging: 36.5" F/36" R
WD bars snapped up with 3 links hanging: 36.25" F/ 36.25" R
The TV measures level with 3 links hanging, but the bars are not parallel with the A-frame. With 2 links hanging, the bars are parallel, but the TV is slightly nose high. The TT isn't empty, but it isn't loaded for a trip either.
Thoughts? I haven't played with the hitch head angle yet, I ran out of time.
