Husky Hitch Opinion

This is the 5th year with our sliding Husky 16K hitch. Works great, probably don't need the slider aspect, but have it if I need it....4 point pivoting helps.

I use the Teflon plate, I painted various parts on the hitch WHITE so that I could see them easier.

We use a checklist, and do the pulls test every time.

Boy was I wrong, the B&W is a far superior hitch.

People really should check out the solid IMHO foolproof hitching design before purchasing a hitch.

Not much to add... no problems with my Husky. I also
have the sliding version, not sure I need it , but have it
so may prove beneficial at some point. I would add, ...
make sure it gets installed correctly (and correct
location)... and occasional checks on bolt torque may
be wise. I do wish it had a little higher quality (or more
resilient) paint, but easily remedied with occas. touch-ups.
I use one of the silicone pads so face of hitch still in
good shape. I keep mine covered (bungy and RV tire cover),
but many favor bed covers to keep idle hands from messing
with hitch. When they say keep hands and fingers away from the
slide bar... not just a recommendation... easy to donate body
parts if you forget. Husky customer service was very helpful
when I asked questions after purchase. I did paint my slide bar
with Lime green fluorescent paint to make it easier to see when
properly engaged ( but still do the "pull test" with pads
slightly elevated). I would buy "new" as some of the "used" ones
I have seen do not instill confidence... might have been older
Valley versions , so not sure support exists.

Our Husky is a solid performer.

Been pulling our 5er with one for the last 5 1/2 years, no problems. :)

I have a 20K husky hitch that I am very happy with. Have used in on two different 5th wheels, a Fuzion toy hauler and my current Cardinal. One thing is what is the gvwr of your new Cyclone? If it is a double axel it will be around 15K to 16K which will be right at the limit for the 16K hitch. If it is a triple axel the the gvrw will be around 18K. If it were me I would go with the 20K version. Not much difference in the price and you will have more than enough hitch.

We've got one that size that we've been using since '04. Works fine with no issues.

Husky is a good hitch. Used a 16k for 10 years without a single problem. You may want to consider a hitch capable of handling more weight if there's a chance you will get a heavier fifth wheel in the future.

Do your self a HUGE favor and check out the B&W, you will thank me!
