Hitches
Looking at hitching systems. You have the Hensley, the pro pride and the Blue ox. Can we discuss the differences?

Blue Ox? hardly compares with the the HA or PP! the HA or PP are both excellent hitches with many happy customers! the Blue Ox is nothing more than a standard friction WD hitch with some fancy wording. If going with something other than the HA or PP I would go with the Reese Dual Cam. I have used it on my 35ft 9200lb TT for the last 9 years and 2 years prior to that on a 28 ft TT. never had one issue and it keeps the trailer straight behind my Excursion.
My point was directed more towards the capacity of the hitches. What is the capacity of the HA or PP? Blue Ok is rated for 2000 pounds TW. I know Equalizer can't match that.
Just as a FYI
Here is a list of the max tongue weight of the current manufacturers.
*Eaz-Lift - 1200 lbs max
*Pro Series- 1200 lbs max
*Reese Standard Trunnion - 1200 lbs max
*Hensley Twins- 1400 lbs max
*Equal-i-zer - 1400 lbs max
*Curt Trunnion- 1500 lbs max
*Reese HD Trunnion - 1700 lbs max (Note 2 1/2 receiver/shank REQUIRED)
*BlueOx Sway Pro - 2000 lbs max (Note, uses a 2x2 inch shank, this is the highest rated 2x2 Weight distribution shank I can find.)
*Pullrite WD hitch - 2000 lbs max
*SuperHitch Everest- 3,000 lbs max
I would like to note that most 2x2 receivers can't handle 2,000 lbs of tongue weight. There are a few exceptions, namely the Curt brand that can, but they tend to be rated for less trailer weight, around 17,000 lbs.
The PullRite and the SuperHitch Everest are both unique WD systems that are not part of the normal 2x2 or 2.5 x 2.5 receivers infrastructure.. in other words, they are unique unto themselves and normal receivers need not apply for these hitches.
Thanks!
Jeremiah
