Holding tank valve got ripped off.

I have a 2001 Sportsman 30ft 5er. On a recent trip, we drove through a decent snow storm in CO. And, my front gray water dump tubing and valve got ripped off from the weight of the ice/snow that accumulated on it. Yes, thank GOD it wasn't the black water tank.

This is the tank for my galley/kitchen and I believe its 2" tubing.

I have been searching for replacement parts. But, I was wondering if it was as simple as just running to Home Depot for the plastic piping, and then fit it to a new valve?

Anyone know where exactly to get this stuff?

  • Yes the pipe you can get from Home Depot. You'll have to get the two flanges and the valve from an RV place. Probably about $30 max in parts.
  • It's pretty easy to do too. If you want to be clever you can add some strategic flexible couplings too. It makes plumbing less prone to stress cracking. It makes it so you can remove plumbing too if needed.
  • Yeah better the grey than the black.....

last fall I bonked a pile of debris backing my TT into a very difficult and tight location. Didn't see it until I felt it....

Well, guess which one I damaged? Of course, the black.

It has a crack somewhere and drips "stuff"

If it ever warms up here in this frozen tundra, I'll get out and hack it apart and fix it.

    Wish it was the grey.

Conversation with customer last November while I was parked in his driveway building him a sunroom.

Please excuse that black smelly stain running down your driveway - I'll mop it up when I leave, if it ever thaws!! Sorry about that! :E:E:E
  • ABS piping.....could be 2" or 1 1/2"

    Dump valves come in 3", 2" and 1 1/2"

So you need to be sure of the size

Home Depot should have ABS pipe and slip joint couplings

Valve and slip joint valve flanges would be via an RV Parts Store
