Find *YOUR* favorite brand - mfg by Johnson Controls - "Largest producer of private label lead acid batteries in North America."
"Johnson Controls supplies OEM batteries for Ford Motor Company, Daimler Chrysler, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, and Isusu."
May also now supply GM (AC Delco) - as Johnson bought out Delphi.
Exide:
Exide - (scroll to bottom of "History") - for bankruptcy info.  
Also, beside the plant closures, Exide has "new" problems (closures, lawsuits, lead contamination in air/ground at their CA battery recycling facility).
Doesn't look like a rosy future.
