You might have asked to move to another site but being the holiday weekend they all were probably filled up... If that didn't work then you look for a quiet occupied spot and ask those folks to swap with you if they just happen to be the party types haha.. If they know the noise was bothering you and you may be thinking about going home they just might do it for you...
I know we have swapped sites a couple of times just because some family campers all wanted to be in the same area together... We came into Westmoreland State park one time and sure enough someone was just setting up in our favorite spot. As we were slowing checking it out and turned around which made us pass it again he walks out to the road and said "Did I get your spot" which we replied it was our favorite spot but we can find another one... At this camp ground you sort of go the site first and setup and then go check in... This guy immediately said no problem and moved his truck to another site... We had camp fire chats two or three nights after that haha...
