FWIW, gasoline and propane, along with some aerosols, should never be in the passenger cabin of a vehicle. I speak from experience. I was driving a cargo van with 20 gal. propane cylinders onboard. One cylinder that was over-filled discharged through the safety release valve. I could not see my hands on the wheel through the vaporizing propane.

Did the same thing in my van, only I had pulled up to the gas pumps to fuel when I smelled the propane! :E
Emptied out an entire gas station and 4 counties responded with emergency vehicles.
BTW....I found out it is 'illegal' to carry 20lb propane cylinders inside a vehicle. Ya I know how will you get your BBQ propane bottle home? But, I WAS read the riot act about doing so by several police, EPA and I think even the ATF and the bomb squad showed up on site that day. :R
