  • i would never pay that much for a used 2000, when you can get new ones with free shipping for that much money.
i paid $650 for my Honda 2000 with only 25 hours on it, from Craig's List.
  • I got an EU1000 that hadn't been run in 10 years for a bottle of single malt scotch. I had to invest some time getting it to run right but I still came out pretty good. I also learned a lot about what makes them tick and now have no qualms about field stripping a Honda carb if needed while on the road.
  • Supply and demand. In Austin, I could sell a used Honda eu2000i in good shape (where I prove to the seller that the generator runs and can handle an electrical load) for $750. $700 and it will be gone in an hour.
  • I agree with everyone on buying new. I did buy mine used, from a friend who bought a motor home and no longer needed it. I paid more than 50% of new, but I knew it only had about 4 hours on it and its history.
  • At that price I would buy new. You could always just offer $500 over email or the phone and see if they bite.
  • IMHO: Since you can, or recently could, buy a new one for $900 (Wise Sales and others), $900 for a used one is absurd. Good clean used Honda 2000's should go for $500 to $700. :C
