Your looking at a fine tow car. I have the 2 wheel drive. There are no differences between the two cars except the model. Ex, Lx etc.
In the later model CRV's you do have to install either a fuse switch or run a battery charge line as the battery will go dead fairly quick while being towed..
I installed the fuse switch and it works great.
You will be comfortable with 4 people. The middle model in the CRV series seems very popular and what I bought. Check out a Honda website for all the upgrades between the 3 models.
