hooking up an electric brake controler

I own a 2012 Chevy G-30 C class 32 ft. motor home .I also have a Powerstop electric brake controller # 500-ps. This controller need to get a 12 volt signal from the brake light switch under the dash. Does anyone know of a harness from GM that plugs into the harness that will send a 12 volt signal to the controller Thanks for any help

  • The problem is that the newer style vehicles have a brake switch that works off of OHMs and not 12 volt. there has to be a place were the Ohms are then change over to 12 volt that can be connected to the 12 volt side of the brake switch that works the brake lights. today I'm going to try the local Chevy dealer
  • At least in trucks of that era a harness would come in the glove box.
The companies that make aftermarket brake controls often offer harness for many different vehicles. I don't know if that will include motor homes. I start by looking on the product website of the control manufacturer.
  • If you don't want to cut the wire, take the wire out of the plug. If you find a good assortment of ends you can make a wire and plug that back in.
