Hot water conundrum.

I am having a hard time figuring this one out.

The kitchen and bathroom sinks each get full hot water like normal.

The shower will give a trickle when turned all the way to hot, but just a trickle. But this only happens when not connected to city water source.

My only thought is that we have a blockage in the shower hot water line. Does anyone else have a different thought?

How do I check for a blockage?

If it matters we have a 2005 Itasca Suncruiser.

Thank you, as always, for your help and insight.

  • New showers (the single handle types) have a temperature gage built in them to prevent someone getting burned with hot water. You can adjust the -- do a Google on how.

Does the cold water flow normal?

Turn of the water heater and let the water cool (or run all the hot water out) and see if the shower work with cold (hot water)
  • Wild guess, but I've read how having the outside shower valve open can mess up the interior shower pressure.
  • Or connect to a very high pressure high volume faucet to see if this will clear up the problem. Keep a faucet open so that you don't get excessive pressure.
  • Remove shower handle hose from faucet....turn on hot and see if you get flow.
CAUTION so it doesn't blow all over.
