I am surprised no one has pointed out the disparity between uhaul rental rates from Dallas to San Diego with the rate from San Diego to Dallas. Been to California a number of times, but I far prefer the states of Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho and Oregon. Both destinations are 3-4 day drives for me, and There is a huge difference in the rural vistas.
