If it makes the OP feel better, I'm an east coaster, but have visited California a few times. I've ridden a bike across the golden Gate Bridge, visited the redwood forrests, been to wine country, driven on the Pacific Coastal Highway. San Francisco is an awesome city. I usually hate the city. California also keeps me busy at work as a software developer in the transportation industry.

I have no problem with California!
