Very misleading charts:
Let's see you navigate your dually through the streets of NYC.
One red county on your map has maybe 500-1000 people in it whereas one blue county can have over 100,000+. Let's not forget that this current president lost by 3 million votes, so that red/blue map is very skewed.
Let's not forget that California alone gave 4 million more votes to Hillary than to Trump. That vote was so badly skewed in favor of Clinton that it means that the total popular vote of all the other states went in favor of Trump. Don't want one state to dictate the politics for the rest of the country.
Could you further explain what this means to you since I'm not getting the point?:

I accept how the national votes are tallied to elect a president as well as it's consequences. Pretty much works the same way in my home state.
Almost 1/2 the people of the entire population of NYS live in or around NYC yet we surely pay more taxes than others and get less of a bang for our buck in return. Just a reality moment and either we change the system or gather as many ducats as we can and grumble.
On a federal level our most recent election shows me that 2018 is gonna be another rock 'em sock 'em election cycle and every politician out there knows it if nothing else because of of the disparity between the Electoral College and popular vote. Congressional Representatives might feel safe and warm in the cocoon of their locality but Senators who represent the entire state, not so much, regardless of our Soothsayer in Chief's predictions. Hmmm or would that be predilections?;)
The bottom line IMO is that one state is not "choosing" our president but there are millions of citizens across the country who have their eyes on the bus driver.
