I visited California (first time ever) for two months last summer. Highly over rated in my opinion and don't plan on ever going back. Many roads in need of major repair and everything is too expensive. I certainly appeciated the Bristlecone Pines, the Sequoias and Redwoods, Yosemite Valley and Tioga Pass, Lava Tubes NM, Death Valley and Mono Lake. I found a wallet stuffed full of cash and cards at Yosemite and the Rangers were shocked that I turned it in to them. They were even more shocked when I declined to give my information to pass along to the owner of the wallet for a possible reward. Different way of thinking from where I grew up in the Midwest.
