How do you feel about those dashboard placards

Some require them to be on the dash and others ask you hang them from the rearview mirror. Probably to be sure you paid for the site you're on and to confirm the date you're supposed to leave so the site becomes available. They also show your toad or rental vehicle has been checked in.
