We have six bikes (although one of them is a balance bike for the three year old; but 4 of the 6 are adult size since my two oldest are teenagers), and we tow with a full size van (so no room for them in the back, and a roof rack would be no fun to deal with). For our big trip this summer we put one in the storage compartment under a bunk, three in between the bunks in the bunkhouse and the last two on either side of the bed in the front bedroom (that way the center of the trailer was still accessible/usable for stops while driving). This was a three week trip with a lot of one and two night stops, so it was a PAIN to drag them in and out every stop...but I timed it once and it actually only added five minutes to set up time. We're going to look at other solutions for our next big trip (maybe a rack mounted over the hitch), but I think it's inevitable that we'll still end up with at least a couple of bikes inside the trailer.
