I have a toy lock retractable cable setup that I lock my Honda, extra gas can and 6 gal gas tank that Honda draws from all hooked together and locked to my steps. I usually run cable trough my folding table also and haven't had any issues, they are on the door side of the camper so they are always in sight. On your gen with no handle as one poster commented to build a lockable cage for it.
