More than once I have paid more than my share to avoid a lot of figuring and dividing to get to some exact number. For me all that nonsense ruins the fun.
$25.00 extra or whatever on the dinner tab doesn't really matter to me in the long run. I'm not rich but I can at times afford to go out to lunch/dinner.
If you can't afford to pay it's one thing.....
However if you are a cheap skate and are unable to sleep at night because you may have contributed to the other guys meal, stay home next time.
