How do you store your power supply extension cord

Got my 30ft 50amp extension cord made.I don't want to just throw it into a storage booth. Did that in our old 5th wheel but it was a 30amp and the cord was not near as heavy. I did this for now until I can come up with something different or maybe this is the best option. It can hold the 50amp cord-dog bone and my 2 25ft 12gage extension cords.
  • Our 50A cord is a Bohemith and 45 ft. long. It won't fit in a bucket, wheel well, Milk Crate or Laundry Basket so I use the mid-size one of these sold at the Orange Big Box Store. It leaves enough room inside to store a regular 20A extension cord, Surge protector and a couple of towels to wipe the cords off if they get muddy.
  • toss it in the storage compartment when leaving in a hurry. Forget about the unorganized mess of a storage compartment and swear alot the next time i go digging for it!
  • I use the bucket method for my drinking water hose and hose attachments.

For the electrical, I just throw it into the back of the truck bed if we are changing CGs, or roll it up for the pass thru storage compartment for longer term. All extensions I keep rolled up and zip tied in the pass thru until needed.

Interesting to see how different folks approach the problem.
  • Been using an oval laundry basket almost from the beginning. No need to take all of the cable out to use it. The cable is coiled trailer end in the basket first leaving enough out to plug into the trailer. This way only what is needed to reach the shore power post needs to be pulled out of the basket. Very handy if you are a traveller & only spend a few nights at any spot.

That's what we do and we leave enough out from the trailer plug-in so we can shove the basket under the trailer and keep what we don't need from getting soaked. Works a treat.
  • Main cord is attached and shoves in and rests under the bathroom vanity.
Extension is coiled by hand and rests upright in the front/side compartment.
  • Best RV "investment" I ever made!

12V "powered" cord reel - w/ *much* more flexible 50 amp cord!

Pull out amount you need - push button to retract.

Mounted in front compt (pre-connected to trlr elect panel)

Options: Connect to pedestal, or gen in back of pickup, or original outlet at rear of trlr (then to pedestal w/ short extension).

    Investment?
When (if) I sell the trlr, it can go along with me (& trlr to option #3) - with the original "Anaconda" ready for the bucket brigade.

    :C
