How do you transport your mobioity scooter
I have a mobility scooter that does not break down to small parts. I tow a car so on the back is not an option the toad is too small to put a carrier on the back.

- I understand you have a scooter already but often a used one that breaks down is very inexpensive. I have purchased three of them and they were quite new. Both for $500 or less. They have smaller tires so are not good in gravel etc but are perfect for theme park usage or the like.
I carried two of them in the back of my Ford Edge. - Why do some of you just tell stories that aren’t applicable or helpful to the OPs question?
- Our scooter has very low clearance and this includes the 2 small wheels behind the rear wheels that prevent the scooter from tipping up like on a grade. Check your scooter clearance for the ramps.
- I use a pair of 12"x90" foldable ramps. With the scooter they fill the back of the car. Make sure you have headroom and depth for the scooter and the ramps. You should have holddown for straps to secure everything.
I also have a non motorized carrier on the back of the car for the scooter but the scooter is inside the car when towed to eliminate dirt and water. Scooter plus carrier weighs about 240 lbs. - I'm fortunate that mine breaks down and fits into front compartment of 5th wheel. I then put it into back of truck to haul when out and about. I have a fold up cover on truck so it is protected.
I am assuming that you have a motor home with toad. One possible option would be a reciever installed on front of motorhome but then how would you transport when out in the toad?
Maybe provide a description of motorhome and toad and someone might have already solved this issue.
Dave - Is your front axle weight under max enough to consider a front end rack etc.?
- When my wife's sister traveled with us for a few years, we carried her non-break down scooter in the back of our then 2002 RAV4 toad. I installed an electric lift that made loading and unloading quite easy. We had to fold down one of the rear seats to make room for the scooter.
- Front rack with a cover on it is the only option then. It appears anyway.
