Just curious here.
Do you drive long or short distances for warranty or any service on your RV?
I avoid having a dealer mess up basically a good thing for minor issues and if the repair is under $100 to $200 I will do it myself. An RV is not much different in many respects than what you do at home.
Also how willing are you to tackle a difficult repair yourself?
Well it all depends on what you call difficult. For me major axle work such as alignment/replacement, major exterior repair replacement such as replacing a front cap, etc. (removing and resealing a window is IMO not a dealer, but owner repair) would be beyond my capabilities or desire to mess with. Just about everything else is something I would do since I might have to do it anyway after the warranty is gone anyway unless I want to pay a dealer their high costs to do the work out of warranty. I have repaired furnaces, replaced water heaters, completely replumbed the FW system, and replaced waste water plumbing and valves. About the only repair I wouldn't attempt is AC replacement just due to the weight and access to the roof and probably refer replacement since that is usually covered for free or a minimal fee at Camping World and I wouldn't want to mess with disposing of the old refer.
