how high is high?

In 1 to 2 weeks we are heading to South Texas from Pa by way of Yellowstone National Park. Gas prices in Pa are up about ten cents a gallon already. I'm wondering if anyone saw the gas price forecast and how high it may go.
Once in Texas for the rest of the winter, everything will be local. We run about a tank every three weeks since the stores and restaurants are close by. I'm mostly curious about September.
  • our town has the highest prices around other than calif. they went up for the ellipse and now they will raise it again for the hurricane. talk about price gouging

Gas and diesel is up 25 cents this week in Denver so far- $2.49-2.54. Outlook is for more increases. And we have 2 refineries operating here.??
  • Obviously, how high the prices go and for how long is entirely dependent on how soon the refineries can get back in full production. From the reports I've heard so far, there appears to have been minimal damage to them for the most part, and they did have time to do controlled shutdowns, so that's in favor of relatively quick restarts once the supporting infrastructure is back in place.

I'm in PA, the local station is up $.50.
  • Well, I remember not all that long ago we paid $5.00 per gal. for diesel out here,
But, yes, expect gas prices to spike. If I knew how much, I could get rich.
  • Will TX be ready for Campers? With the Houston refineries out of commission there isn't any telling how high prices will go. Use Gas Buddy to find the cheapest prices.
  • Still cheap! In 2008 we put on 15,000 miles to AK and back. AVERAGE price per gallon on that trip was $4.55. So anything less than that is a bargain to me! ST
  • Only up 10 cents? All around my area in PA gas is already $2.85 for regular, 87 octane.
