How its made...aircraft seating....

Channel surfing... found a "How it's Made" on "first class
cabin seating in aircraft". I want ...for my fiver. :C
Sure wish the RV industry would watch that episode. Sure, cost
and weight would be prohibitive... but what if ???

Here is the company they featured... (I have no connection).

Wow... nice stuff. In a perfect world ....

First class....

  • I saw that episode and I've never sat in an airplane seat that was that nice. Must have been first class.

It's definitely not economy class. :C
  • Agree....def. the unaffordable First Class seating... and the
Captain's chair..... very nice. C'mon RV industry ! .... prepare
    for take-off ! :B

  • I saw that episode too, and I think the seats were for private jets. You could probably pick one of those seats up for a few grand. :)
  • Really Howard ... that's what they go for ??? Mercy, and me all
out of kidneys to sell . :B

  • Charles, just a guess on my part, but I'll bet I'm not far off.
  • Yes....they were showing luxury seats in private jets. They showed the aluminum structure and all the lightweight materials. I'll bet they're closer to $5K each. They have to meet aviation standards, that at doubles the price.
  • Many company's make top of the line seats. When I started driving a semi I bought a custom seat. It cost almost $2k in 1979,however when I retired in 2009 I still had the same seat. I had it reupholstered 3 times but the frame and cushion was like new. I just moved it from truck to truck. Sold it on craigs list for $1500. Best investment I ever made. I'm sure it saved by back. Check out Recarco seats.
