I have my rig parked near a feral cat colony. My biggest concern is the caulk on the roof, the status of the tires, and making sure the appliances are run occasionally. A hornet's nest in the A/C coils can put a major crimp on things.
For two-legged rat protection, my trick is to have my rig several miles from a paved road, and 20 miles from any notable highway, well out of sight, and behind a locked gate. It isn't 100%, but so far, so good.
