My experience: One Coleman 16 ounce bottle on low -- 4-5 hours. On medium, 2-3 hours. On high, both bottles get gone in 2-3 hours. On a 20# propane tank on med/high, around 40 hours.
Yesterday, I went on a trip with my TT to drop it off at a spot I'm dry camping on weekends. As soon as I found that the furnace cracked off, started burning dust and making warm air, the Big Buddy went to a friend tent camping. If given a safe RV furnace that exhausts combustion products to the outside versus having to vent and make sure the heater is in a fire-resistant spot, I'll take the added propane use of the RV furnace for safety reasons. - TurnThePageExplorerI know my Big Buddy heater burns 10% to 20% more propane than my standard Buddy heater when both are on the lowest setting. That was definitely a disappointment.
- jaugustonExplorerBuddy or Big Buddy on low will use one tank every 5 hours. Our Buddy connected to the coach tank on low would probably run 24/7 for a month or more (-: Coach tank is 50 gallons.
- BB_TXNomadI have a Portable Buddy and on the 4,000 setting I get around 4 hours on one of the small propane cylinders.

With the 2 little propane tanks installed and heat setting on low of 4000 btu?
How many hours will it run?
Thanks..
Propane contains 22,000 BTU's per pound...using that number you can calculate length-of-burn for any setting on your heater. - RoyBExplorer III use the one canister Mr BUDDY in my off-road POPUP trailer. I can get 6-7 hours out of one canister...
My tents and POPUP is about the only place I feel safe using the Mr Buddy heaters... The fabric tent flaps are not all that air tight I guess...
In my POPUP I can sit my Mr Buddy on a shelve with the Fantastic fan just above it which I crack open about an inch. Heats up my POPUP trailer pretty good... The DUAL TANKS on the BIG BUDDY heater would probably be too much heat for me. That is what is wrong with the built-in propane furnace. Way too much heat for my off-road popup. runs us out and the blower is VERY LOUD... only use it as an absolute BACK UP heater.
Roy Ken - weathershakExplorerAt 4000 btu's approx. 12 hrs, I believe. My buddy heater that takes 1 tank gets approx. 6 hrs on low setting.
- Tin_PusherExplorer IIDon't know how "little" your tanks are but...
I've got a 10 or 11 K BTU tabletop patio heater. At full bore it burns a pound an hour, give or take. - LynnandCarolExplorerI think about 4 hours. We use a larger tank/hose on hours in our cabin.
