We hang nothing on the outside to the ladder. We want nothing to fly off and while a small possibility, we never want that trouble and not to hang means we won't, will something else fly off the rv tooling down the road, who knows but it won't be anything we hang there :)
There is always room inside. What you can shove, cram, lock down inside on the bed and more, no reason to keep outside truly.
