We only drink water from the faucet (it is filtered at the sink) if we are connected to fresh water faucet. We keep no water in our Fresh water tank unless we are traveling and then only to use for flushing and hand washing. Moving from spot to spot or when there is (extra terrible fresh water at a park) we drink bottled water. I wouldn't drink water sitting in a non sterile container that was sitting at home for weeks either. Just the way we do it. We do sanitize our fresh water tank before we leave for the winter, however that sanitizing actually probably only lasts for a very short time.
