We take our porta-bote almost all the time. You never know when you will come upon a good lake or river! 12 foot folding rowboat that attaches to the side of our travel trailer. Only 4 inches wide when folded.
How do you mount the boat to the side of the camper? - colliehaulerExplorer IIIWell I'm going to stay with a small TT and pull a small pontoon in the 14' to 16' range. I will take a motorcycle in the back of the truck. I know the double tow will limit me from some states. When I had the jet-ski I put it and the trailer it was on in the RV.

We carry one of these in the basement to use when we like.
We carry similar in our basement with fishing rod holders, as well two kayaks, one a fishing hunter equipped. Love being on the water, in the water and under the water, depending where we are. - Jebby14Explorermy 14 foot aluminum used to go upside down on the popup with the motor and gas tank on a bracket under the boat between the seat. now I take the canoe
- travelnutzExplorer IIVery often do take a boat. Either our decked out fully carpeted 16-1/2' Smokercraft King Troller with its fast Evinrude power trim and tilt outboard and loaded with electronics and has a walk around under large Bimini top. OR Our fiberglass 19' Sea Pro Centra Cuddy Cabin I/O which is also loaded with electronics and has a full enclosure top and a head. Depends on where we are going and what we plan and of course the weather.
RV'ing and boating and/or real fishing is a way of life in Michigan as it has hundreds of waterfront campgrounds (most having boat launches) and over 11,000 inland lakes plus 4 of the 5 Great Lakes with having over 3200 miles of GL shoreline alone.
Double tow with the 5th wheel behind the truck or have the big Lance truck camper on the back of the truck and the boat on behind when it's best suited for where we are going or when going in the gestapo nanny states that won't allow double towing. Usually avoid those wimpy pansy states but can't always.
Have to be prepared for most anything!
Edited to update - down_homeExplorer IIWe saw a motor home a couple days ago towing his towed and a boat behind it, sashaying down the Interstate.
Our Former Neighbors did through Alabama with a three axle long Fifth Wheel, Trike on trailer and boat behind. It is legal in some places though I bet his length wasn't. He got stopped somewhere.
I want to but I'll have to wait on the lottery for stack enclosed trailer.
Rentals at lakes etc are about ten times the boat payment. $250.00, I think, I remember, for half a day, for new pontoon and fuel on local lake chain in Michigan. Fifteen thousand a month or even half booked seventy five hundred, the boat is paid for in two months. - 3boxerssExplorerYes we do. Our son and his wife go camping with us and they bring their pontoon with them.

In a sense, we used to. We would tow the trailer to Roosevelt Lake near Phoenix and set up camp. We would then fetch our boat from nearby storage, use it for the period we were camped, and then return it to storage.
Haha, same here. Tow the TT to lake pleasant camp spot with electric and water, set it up then go back for the boat. Only 35 min drive from N Phoenix to the lake. - SDcampowneroperExplorer
