How much is to much for no tow/haul mode?

I guess I do this a little differently when towing my 7500 lb TT. I have a 3rd Gen Ram diesel. Tow Haul makes it hold the lower gear longer before shifting, but does not lock out 4th gear (48RE is a 4 speed trans). I only use Tow Haul when climbing serious grades. The rest of the time, I leave it off. I do have a PacBrake, but only engage it for up and down grades.
