- rhagfoExplorer IIIThere is no doubt the Class A driver is way out of line. It is amazing what drivers will do to get by something they feel is impeding them, and the danger they will put themselves and others in to do it.
During the late summer months in Washington county Oregon there is the harvest of hay fields! This requires moving of much large harvesting equipment on State Hwy 26, these units are 12’ to about 14’ wide and travel at about 30 mph. We have seen people pass these units in a no passing zone, forcing oncoming traffic to the shoulder, that oncoming traffic traveling at 55 to 60 mph!! These harvesters only travel maybe a mile or two on the Hwy, just crazy what chances people will take to save a few minutes! - BumpyroadExplorer

Uhmmm: the guy videoing has no brake pedal? Was willing to just let this happen?
but he needed more video to post on his site. He's as big a jerk as the class A driver.

What if, what if! To make judgements about the guy doing the video is not right. What if both hit the brakes? What if both hit the gas? It's easy to be an armchair quarterback.
The guy making the video is a ebegger, there's a youtube channel just dedicated to pointing out his tactics and this plays right into his MO. Every few videos there's a crisis and people send him money because they feel sorry for him. Been going on for yrs. He was in a convoy with the rest of the group of ebeggers. Notice he nsays he was run off the road but he didn't pull over until the guy was well past him and sill in the other lane. Drama Queen.
Erik is probably one of the best rv video producers out there and he gets better everyday. Trolls are jealous people and there are many who want to bring him down. They won't.
He must be pretty good with over 100,000 subscribers and I'm one of them.
Your assuming that the 100,000 are watching because they think he’s good? I was one of them for a while, it was entertaining to see what the next disaster was going to be. It gets old Pretty quick. Bernie Madoff was good, end result not so much.
Thanks for giving me something more to occupy my spare time. Now I have to watch all his videos. IMO it still does not take away from the fact that the guy in the class A is a total peckerhead, and should be taken off the road. What I would like to see is comments from the drivers of the cars heading the other direction, who ended up on the shoulder. I bet there was some pants shatting in those vehicles. - BumpyroadExplorer

well stated. sort of like the false sense of importance given to having a high number of facebook "friends", etc.

Proponents of licensing seem to forget that the stupid driver in question is from Canada. Explain to me how forcing US drivers to get licensed will fix this particular problem.
Maybe if we build a wall...
I far prefer Mexicans to Canadians, who throw nickels around like manhole covers and this time of year jam every happy hour and all you can eat buffet in Florida. - qtla9111Nomad

Every time I’m on the interstate there are plenty of big rigs
pushing slower vehicles to try and get them out of the lane. - rhagfoExplorer III

Sounds to me like a whole bunch of you all that are dead set against mandatory licensing and skill testing probably cannot pass anyway.
Like a Motorcycle endorsement. To get one (at least in this state) you have to demonstrate to a state certified examiner, that you have the skills to handle a motorcycle...or you don't get the endorsement. I have that as well.
Apply that to RV's as well. Again, no issue with me, I'm already there but obviously a lot of folks aren't.
All I'm saying is, I see mandatory licensing coming in the future. Don't kid yourself, the NHTSA is always monitoring incidents with RV's. They get paid to do that.... with your tax dollars of course.
There are more and more RV's on the roadways today than ever before and more incidents than ever before and if big brother can get involved, they will.
We could go on forever discussing the pro's and con's of licensing but in reality, it's not up to you, it's up to the government if and when they implement that, and when they do, you will either comply or be done driving your RV.
When it happens and I'd be willing to bet it will...
Pretty black and white to me.
Having a skills test to get an endorsement might get Erik the Class C driver off the road for slow reaction time, but the driver of the Class A would likely pass easily. It would likely get rid of some drivers, or force them to bone up on the necessary skills good enough to pass.
It would likely affect the camper we had that stated he could NOT backup his 32’ 5er! He was waiting for one of only two pull through sites in our loop.
