55 yrs, 1-day. took a 2.5% hit on the 5-yr early retirement but it was well worth it. was able to stay with my former employer's group but had to pay the full premium. I was able to do that because we walked into retirement not owing a dime to anyone. there have been some great moments in my life...my first bike, first car, marrying my high school sweetheart (44-yrs this march) but becoming 100% debt-free is ranked right up there with the rest.
