I retired from Boeing at 57, with the company pension (reduced because of early retirement)and was able to keep the company health insurance (at a significant price) until Medicare kicked in for my wife, who is 3 years younger than me. I got fed up of all the travel. In my last year, I spent 29 weeks overseas and none of the trips were more than 10 days. They were almost all to the Middle East.
Later, I did a couple of years driving a bus for our county transit agaency. Been fully retired now for about 8 years.
