If you can't handle the insurance costs, keepworking so an employer pays, because you are not going to be able to handle the actual medical bills if the get catatstrophic. Insurance company spent about $800,000 treating an incurable cancer, to keep my wife alive for her last three years. My costs came in somewhere around $120,000 if you include insurance premiums. Either way, it makes a big dent in retirement savings.
