Was a Teamster driving an industrial laundry truck for 31 years and retried on the PEER program at 58 with a FIXED payment. At that time they didn't have retiree medical till 62,so I paid for Cobra, ohhh that hurt, and when I went to apply for it at 62 I was told that I had needed to apply when I retired and wasn't eligible.I did go to work driving a school bus for 10 years as soon as I retired from Overall laundry. After the first year I got full benefits and so when I retired with 10 years,I got a state retirement that barely pays for my medigap medical payments. They called me after a year and a half and begged me to come back as a sub driver and that lasted for another year and a half till I was diagnosed with neck cancer and now that I'm finished with the radiation treatments,I've decided that someone else can drive those screaming little elementary kids to and from school. Life's to dear to put up with them, their parents don't care,so why should I.. High school and middle school aren't too bad.
