I worked in sound reinforcement as a kid... all those snakes, mic cables, etc... I use the "over/under" on our 50-amp. It's not too hard. Most of the time my wife helps by wiping the cable down with a rag while she feeds it to me. I coil it in the basement while it's being fed.

This is exactly how we work ours.
I didn't know there was a name for it, but I've been coiling my cables & hoses this way for years.
I see my son in law, wife (sometimes), and others wrapping cords around their hand/elbow. They don't realize just how bad they're twisting, and how much damage they're actually doing to that cable/cord.
