- TOMMY47ExplorerIf I'm doing some hard driving from here to there over several days, it doesn't make much sense to stay in an RV park for a few hours to sleep at $30+ per night. Especially if they're well off the expressway. Many times, the closest one is 5 miles or more distant while most Walmarts are pretty close to the exits. Additionally, a lot of parks close their offices fairly early, causing further issues.

Maybe cheaper was the wrong word to use. I should have said they would rather spend there money on a neat RV to look good, then spend a dollars to be safer in a RV park down the road.
supercharged--That's not true.
I Just came back from a trip and overnighted a few times at Walmart.
There were plenty of new, big rigs there of all sorts. All in the 100,000 plus range. Some were well over that price.
I guess they didn't quite have as snooty an attitude as others. - BigRabbitManExplorerThen again one can advertise your presence with a big sign!
Sign over my coach discovered in the morning. - Roy_LynneExplorer

I drove past our local WalMart and there was one of those brand new half million dollar jobs in the lot. It was beautiful but stuck out like a sore thumb. At least the cammo one looks like it belongs. - Jim_ShoeExplorerIf mine was painted that way, I wouldn't be able to find it when I came out of the store. :)

- SuperchargedExplorerHe doesn't look any cheaper then the other RV's that use W-Mart.
- Gale_HawkinsExplorerThanks. Very cool.

Please point out what the problem is. I don't understand.
352, this posting probably refers to all of the previous postings about parking overnight at Wal-Marts, called "boondocking", since Wal-Mart allows overnight parking in their parking lots. However, some municipalities have laws against sleeping in vehicles overnight, even if they are parked in parking lots. Also, many here on the forum feel it is inappropriate to park and stay overnight in a store parking lot. The camouflaged RV would blend in and not be seen.
