If you're going to go this route they also should NOT be cotton, use silk, wool, or synthetics. We have scouts have miserable times on our Klondike campouts every year, the ones who listen and change into dry non-cotton undergarments before bed are not the ones getting hypothermia, whining, or leaving in the middle of the night.
