My wife called me at work several years back crying. When I got her to calm down she said the power bill is $28000 dollars. I called our power company and they realized that they mixed our meter up with a local manufacturer. All and a laugh over that one and still talk about it.
Today our meters are electronically read and I get daily emails with our usage along with a text if my usage exceeds a certain amount daily. It's neat to see how our power varies depending on what we use.
